MAKKAH: The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has concluded its work in making Al-Khaif Mosque in Mina ready to host pilgrims, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Thursday.
Work at the mosque included carpeting, cleaning, and sanitizing, and checking air conditioning, lighting, and restrooms.
The ministry has also set up Islamic awareness counters and fatwa booths, while activating electronic screens and surveillance cameras. Maintenance companies have been assigned to clean at the location around the clock.
Field supervisors have been tasked with monitoring the maintenance work and submitting reports.
The ministry has undertaken several development projects at the mosque in recent years, including maintenance, renovation and structural repairs. Work on air conditioning and air purification systems has also taken place.
Al-Khaif Mosque has also received carpets and been equipped with electronic screens and counters to help visitors.
